BEING OUTDOORS

My relationship with photography and nature is circular. If I'm heading out on a hike or day trip, I bring my camera even if I don't feel like it, because I know it will make me stop and really look around. So I slow down, observe and appreciate my surroundings, the details and the light. Get re-inspired by nature all over again. Cue the endorphins, feeling great, the Mon-Fri grind is totally worth it, snapping away, 36 frames gone in a couple hours.

Most of these photos were taken at Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, California, 6 miles from where I live. Others are from Santa Cruz, my drives along Avenue of the Giants, a day in Yosemite, and few from vacations in North Carolina and my time in Arizona.
